100 Years of Ohio Stadium

Contributing Creatives: CJ Campbell, Ethan Miller, Ethan Hunt, David Saunders, Danny Kraft, Abigail Elliott and Bryan Jay

The season's creative direction celebrating 100 Years at Ohio Stadium was simple: respect the heritage while presenting a century of moments in a way that feels clear and relevant today. Instead of using one visual style across the entire project, the creative direction focused on how each decade felt and how fans experienced those moments at the time.

The process started with research. Looking at archival photos, broadcasts, and fan memories helped shape how different eras were represented. Early decades leaned into classic typography and photography inspired by print media, while later years reflected the faster pace of television, motion graphics, and digital storytelling. The idea was to let the medium reflect the moment.

Collaboration was a core part of the process, with everyone on the creative team building on each other’s ideas as the project evolved. Designers and editors all had room to shape the direction, contributing details that strengthened the storytelling. Through shared feedback and iteration, elements like textures, transitions, and pacing naturally came together, helping connect each era while still preserving the unique identity of every decade.

In the end, the project became a straightforward tribute to Ohio Stadium’s history. By focusing on authentic mediums and thoughtful design choices, the creative process aimed to highlight the legacy without overcomplicating it.

Set Designs

The Blueprint

Inspired by the legendary plays in Ohio Stadium and the iconic Buckeye coaches, which is the blueprint of Ohio Stadium.

The Reflection of Ohio Stadium

The current team understands the spotlight that comes with putting on the Buckeye helmet, a spotlight shaped by the projections and reflections of the past. Every time they take the field, they carry the weight of the moments, expectations, and legacy built by the generations before them.

Motion Graphics

The goal of the motion graphics was to draw inspiration from the video boards and photography that have defined Ohio Stadium throughout the century. The visuals reflected old-school animation styles along with the look and feel of vintage Polaroids, connecting past presentation styles with a modern motion approach.
