This project was part of a student-athlete empowerment series that focused on who athletes are outside of their sport. Collaborating with Hakeem Vance, a student-athlete and film major, made the storytelling process feel more personal and player driven. His perspective and access helped us capture moments that felt natural and honest, giving the project a level of authenticity that would not have been possible otherwise.
The goal was to show the opportunities Baylor offers beyond athletics, from academic spaces to creative environments. Because Hakeem had built trust within the team, we were able to film in a way that felt relaxed and genuine, allowing personalities and interests to come through on screen.
